What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP)?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard developed by Anthropic that lets AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor connect to external tools, data sources, and business applications through a single uniform interface. Instead of writing custom integrations for every AI client, you publish one MCP server and any MCP-compatible AI agent can use it. Which AI clients work with Peliqan MCP?
Any client that supports the Model Context Protocol works with Peliqan. That includes Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, n8n, Make, Zed, and any custom agent built with LangChain or LangGraph. One Peliqan MCP server works across all of them – no per-client setup, no rewriting integrations.
Does Peliqan MCP support writeback, or is it read-only?
Both. All 250+ Peliqan connectors support full writeback – your AI agent can create invoices, update CRM records, post journal entries, change pipeline stages, and trigger workflows directly in your business apps. Writebacks route through Peliqan’s connector layer for safety and audit logging, so AI never accidentally posts malformed data to your live systems.
How is Peliqan MCP different from single-app MCP servers like Zapier or Pipedream?

Will AI queries hit my live ERP or CRM API rate limits?
No. Peliqan caches your business data in a built-in Postgres warehouse, and AI queries hit the cache – not your live Exact Online, AFAS, Salesforce, or other source APIs. Your other integrations and users never compete with AI for API throughput. Sync runs incrementally on your schedule (every 15 minutes by default).
How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to my business data?
Three steps: (1) Authorize your business apps in Peliqan and let the data sync into the built-in warehouse. (2) Create an API handler in Peliqan using the built-in MCP template – this exposes the connectors and tables your AI agents need. (3) Run pip install mcp-server-peliqan, add your API token, and connect Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, or Cursor. Most teams go from zero to first AI query in under 30 minutes.
Is my business data secure when I connect it to AI agents?
Peliqan is SOC 2 Type II certified, ISO 27001 compliant, GDPR-compliant, and EU-hosted. Row-level and column-level access control let you mask sensitive fields – employee salaries, customer PII, payment details – from AI agents while still allowing operational queries. Every AI query and writeback is logged for audit. AI clients only see what you explicitly expose through your MCP API handler.
Can I combine SQL queries with RAG on documents?
Yes – and this is unique to Peliqan. AI agents can query structured business data with SQL and run semantic search (RAG) across unstructured documents – invoice PDFs, contracts, attachments, chatter threads – in the same conversation.
