Job Opening: Support Engineer

About the Role

As a Support Engineer, you will be the front line of technical assistance for Peliqan’s customers in the US and Americas time zones. You will troubleshoot data pipeline issues, guide customers through platform configuration, and collaborate closely with our engineering and customer success teams in Europe and India to resolve complex problems. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical skills in data and SQL with a genuine passion for helping customers succeed.

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical support contact for US-based and Americas customers during US business hours
  • Triage, diagnose, and resolve customer issues related to ELT pipelines, data connectors, SQL transformations, reverse ETL syncs, and platform configuration
  • Reproduce and document bugs with clear steps, logs, and context for the engineering team
  • Guide customers through onboarding tasks: connecting data sources, writing SQL transformations, setting up data syncs, and building data apps
  • Monitor connector health, pipeline failures, and alerting systems; proactively reach out to affected customers
  • Create and maintain support documentation, FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles
  • Collaborate with Customer Success, Data Engineering, and Product teams to escalate issues and relay customer feedback
  • Contribute to internal tooling and automation to improve support efficiency and reduce resolution times
  • Participate in on-call rotation for critical customer issues (with appropriate compensation)

What Makes You a Great Candidate

  • 2+ years of experience in technical support, solutions engineering, or a customer-facing data role
  • Strong SQL skills — comfortable writing and debugging queries across Postgres, MySQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
  • Familiarity with ELT/ETL concepts, data pipelines, and data warehouse architecture
  • Experience with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and basic Python scripting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to explain complex technical topics clearly and empathetically
  • Experience with support tools (Intercom, Zendesk, Freshdesk, or similar) and ticketing workflows
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
  • Experience with BI tools (Looker, Power BI, Tableau) or data transformation frameworks (dbt) is a plus
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in a remote, distributed team
  • Genuine interest in the modern data stack and helping customers unlock the value of their data

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting a SaaS data platform, iPaaS, or analytics product
  • Familiarity with Reverse ETL tools (Census, Hightouch) or integration platforms (Fivetran, Airbyte)
  • Background in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data consulting
  • Experience working with European-headquartered companies or distributed international teams
  • Spanish or Portuguese language skills (for Latin America coverage)
